Teeth Whitening Blue Light

The term Teeth Whitening Blue Light refers to a dental tooth whitening procedure where a special blue light is used to activate a hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel that has been brushed over the teeth. This procedure is not suitable for everyone, Make sure to check if it's safe for you.

The blue light has a wave length of 480 nm which makes it very energetic (blue side of the electromagnetic spectrum).

The term is occasionally misused when referring to a similar process of light-activated or laser tooth whitening. While the concept and results are the same, the difference is just that the blue light is more like a small lamp, instead of using an actual laser. That is not to say that the results from a laser are necessarily better or worse than any of the several light-activating methods.

I heard pretty good things about the procedure - one of my friends had it done and on the first day (beside of the increased sensitivity) the change in color of her teeth was noticeable. It worked well for a few weeks, but then the teeth went back to the same color they were before. The procedure was expensive,the results where great but unfortunately didn't last for long!
