Blue Light Teeth Whitening Price

The teeth whitening price using the blue light procedure varies dramatically between $300 to $1000 and I've actually heard somebody pay $1500 to get his dazzling smile! So the question to be asked is - why such a big price difference? Is the person paying $1000 for his teeth whitening getting better results than the one paying $300 ? Or are different materials/tools being used to justify that great price difference?

Well, the answer for the significant price range is no different than any other product or service you buy. You can pay $80 for a designer T-shirt that will look good on you just as a $7 T-shirt on sale at a Gap outlet!

Both procedures, the expensive and the cheap one - use the same technique and same basic materials. Some whitening systems claim to have a "better" light and gel that produce better results but the truth is nobody can show you that big difference. The basics are all the same - the most important part in the process is the hydrogen peroxide gel that does all the bleaching action - the light just helps the gel work faster.

So the only good and reasonable excuse you should accept for the higher price is the dentists Expertise, time and attention he is giving you in the treatment. Any dentists time is limited and if one spends 10 minutes on preparation with each patient he can probably see more patients a day than a dentists that spend 30 minutes with each patient and understandably charges more.

As mentioned the procedure can be very painful and the initial part of preparing the mouth and protecting the soft tissue is very important for keeping the pain as little as possible. Good and careful preparation before using the light can minimize the pain of the soft tisue being burnt by the bleaching gel! What I'm trying to say is that I would prefer to have a dentist spend more time on preparation of the soft tissue to minimize the pain as much as possible.

saying that doesn't meen that a dentist with a teeth whitening price of only $300 will necesarly perform a painfull procedure and vise versa...

There are aditional factors that can draw the teeth whitening price higher:
Location – sometimes the location of the clinic can be a factor in pricing. Look for clinics in your area that are in the suburbs rather than in the middle of the city.
Competition – A dentists office in an area with very few other dentists offices would probably charge you more than what you would be paying in an area with many dentists where their competition would naturaly draw the prices down!

All of this being said I would like you to realize that a higher price being paid for the procedure doesn't mean you are getting a much better service/product and vise verca. Aditionaly - I would advise you to Negotiate –!!!! Remember- you can always negotiate the price worst case you will get no discount but most cases you will!. Be polite and not aggressive - but negotiate, it works – I know this as a fact. Remember the dentist needs your business as much as you want white teeth.
