Blue Light Teeth Whitening Sensitivity

Teeth whitening sensitivity is the term some people use when referring to the increased teeth sensitivity after having their teeth whitened. They develop sensitivity to the bleaching products offered commercially and even the ones offered and used in procedures at the doctor's office(blue light whitening is one of them). This sensitivity can become more acute over time as the patient uses the same or different products to get his teeth whitened.

Fortunately there are ways to reduce and/or cure the teeth sensitivity in most cases. The primary and probably most recommended way to relief tooth sensitivity is the "one visit desensitizer" offered right at the dentists' office. This method can relief tooth sensitivity for months or maybe years. Some desensitizing agents are: UltraEZ, Gel Syringe (with fluoride and potassium nitrate) and Oragel.

If going to the doctor's office is not an option for you, or you simply prefer to keep the visits to a minimum there are a variety of products that can help you. Some of these products come in rinse, gel, or toothpaste form. These products offer anesthetics to dull the sensitivity of the tooth for the most part, or simply offer custom formulas that serve the same purpose.

You can help yourself by changing your tooth brush for one with softer bristles, which happens to be good for your gums as well.

One more thing you can do is asking your doctor for fluoride applications to strengthen the outer enamel of your teeth.
